Ready to Ride
Before you jump on your bicycle with us, we want to make sure you have everything you need, and that it all checks out to be ready to ride! We'll make sure your helmet & bicycle fits you properly and go over a quick pre-ride safety check. Resources include: how to transport your bicycle should you be driving over or taking TheBus. We'll also have you fill out a pre-workshop Health Screening to ensure your safety and of others. This short 5-min. lesson is required before attending any on-bike course.
How fluent are you in the Language of Bicycling? Learn all the common bike lingo (as well as some fun, lesser known slang!) so you can converse confidently with any roadie, mechanic, or bike snob about anything from using a boot to trackstanding.
Before you join a group ride, acquaint yourself on the basic do's and don'ts of group riding – the huge differences between solo & social cycling, important group ride etiquette, & communication; plus where to find them and a bit on the dynamics of drafting. The group you're jumping in with will certainly appreciate it, trust us!
